Pricing & booking
How much will my repair cost?
Every service on our site shows a starting price and a typical range. The exact price depends on the fault and any parts needed. We diagnose first and confirm the price with you before any work begins.
Is there a charge for diagnosis?
In-home appliance visits include a service-call/diagnosis charge shown on the appliance repair page. Computer diagnostics are priced per service. You'll always know the charge before we arrive or connect.
How do I book?
Call us, send a service request from the contact page, or book and pay for a listed service in our online shop. We then contact you to confirm the appointment time.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
Sometimes. It depends on your location, technician availability and, for repairs, whether parts are on hand. Call us and we'll tell you the earliest available time.
Computer & IT support
What computer and IT problems do you handle?
Computers and laptops that are slow, won't start or show errors; viruses and pop-ups; printer setup and offline printers; Wi-Fi, router and internet issues; home and small-office networks; email, accounts and software; phones, smart TVs and smart-home devices.
How does remote support work, and is it safe?
You call or contact us first. We give you a secure link to a remote-support tool, and you approve the connection. You can watch everything we do and end the session at any time. We never connect without your permission.
Do you work on Macs as well as Windows PCs?
Yes. Windows PCs, Mac computers, Chromebooks, iPhone, iPad and Android devices for setup, software and troubleshooting. Hardware repairs depend on the model and parts availability.
Will I lose my files?
Most fixes don't touch your personal files. Before anything that could affect data, such as a reinstall, we'll explain the risk and recommend a backup, which we can do for you.
Home appliance repair
Which appliances do you repair?
Refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, stoves and ranges (electric and gas), cooktops, microwaves, and window, portable, central and mini-split air conditioners.
Which brands do you service?
Most common household brands. Tell us the brand and model when you book so we can confirm parts. We're an independent service, not a manufacturer-authorized center, so in-warranty repairs should normally go through the manufacturer first.
Is it worth repairing an older appliance?
Often, yes, but not always. If the repair cost is close to replacement, we'll say so and let you decide.
What should I do before the technician arrives?
Clear access to the appliance, have the model number handy if you can find it (usually on a label inside the door or on the back), and secure pets.
Plans, payments & refunds
What's included in the protection plans?
Captain Tech Care plans provide remote support for home computers, printers, Wi-Fi and devices for 1, 2 or 3 years. Antivirus software such as Norton is a separate purchase in our shop. The plans page has the full comparison.
Do plans renew automatically?
No. Plans are a one-time purchase for the stated term and do not auto-renew.
Can I cancel a plan?
Yes. See our refund & cancellation policy for full refunds in the first 30 days and prorated refunds after that.
How can I pay?
Online orders use our secure checkout (credit or debit card and other options shown at checkout). For in-home repairs, payment options are confirmed with your estimate. We never accept gift cards or wire transfers.
